HQL 201: Handgun Qualification License (Permit to Buy Course)

- The 4-Hour Course includes both classroom instruction and range qualification. Topics:
- Handgun Mechanisms and Operation
- Overview of State and Federal Firearm Laws
- Legal aspects of Self-Defense
- Defensive Pistol Skills
- Expanded Gun Handling Safety Rules
- Cleaning & Maintenance
- Firearms Safety
- Situational Awareness and use of Deadly Force
- HQL Application Requirements and Procedures
- Firearm-Related Gear and use of Accessories & Equipment Per Maryland law
- Required to Shoot a qualification course of fire with a score of 70% or more
- All successful 16-Hour Concealed Carry Permit Course students shall receive a Form 29-14 Qualification Score Sheet issued by the MD Gun College MD State Police Certified Instructors. The submission of the score sheet will serve as verification that the Student satisfactorily completed the required training.
